Salt Dragon Farm & Canine Behavior emerged from a blend of passion, diverse experience, and a lifelong dedication to understanding animal behavior. Owner/Trainer, Jennifer, has been loving & jokingly named among her peers as the "dragon trainer" of the canine world. Jennifer's extensive career spans over 15 years as a professional dog trainer, supplemented by invaluable experience as a veterinary technician and a dedicated dog breeder. This multi-faceted background provided her with unparalleled knowledge of canine health, genetics, behavior, and the crucial relationship between dogs and their humans. This knowledge wasn't just theoretical; she successfully bred working dogs, service dogs, champion DockDog, show dogs, sport dogs and balanced trustworthy pet dogs. With equal success, Jennifer has helped owners regain functional and happy relationships with their dogs!
What began as a small farm dream and a commitment to aiding her community soon evolved into a highly specialized area of expertise. Jennifer started working closely with local rescues, dedicating herself to rehabilitating challenging dogs and ensuring their successful transitions into new, loving homes.

This new chapter is built upon a diverse foundation of professional and life experiences, including: owning a business, extensive hands-on experience in wildlife rehabilitation, vet nurse, dog training, breeding, rescue work, farm operations, and the husbandry of various livestock and exotic animals. While actively pursuing this education, Jennifer continues to provide expert training and boarding services, bringing decades of passion and unique experience to every client interaction. Our Name?
The name "Salt Dragon Farm & Canine Behavior" reflects Jennifer's deep-rooted passions and dog training journey. Long before dragons soared into mainstream popularity, Jennifer was captivated by them. Early in her career, she found herself drawn to working with aggressive dogs - often referred to as "dragons" by others in the training community. Before long, Jennifer became known as the "dragon trainer," among her peers in the dog training world. In the vet clinic, she was frequently called upon to restrain the difficult & aggressive dogs despite often being the smallest technician.
Upon moving to Florida, she encountered the "Salt Life" slogan, a common local phrase celebrating the state's coastal lifestyle. Combining this local tribute with her established reputation as a "dragon tamer" and her long-standing love for all things dragon, the name Salt Dragon Farm & Canine Behavior was born, perfectly illustrating her calling.
